Drink Up

With summer here in full-suffocating-swing, what are some drink ideas to keep cool and keep down calories? Other than downing our gallons of cold water of course.  Do you have a cold smoothie recipe you’d be willing to share?  Or any other kind of idea, homemade or store-bought?

  1. My fav is the simple strawberry/ banana smoothy:
    1 c fresh strawberries
    1 banana
1 c non-fat yogurt (or I’ve used almond milk instead- also yummy)
1 packet sugar (or sugar substitute) (optional)
    2 c ice

Blend in a blender til smooth. Yum!

Another good alternative, is sometimes I just put a few drops of lemon in my water to make it taste different.

  2. I have tried the pumpkin pie, apple pie, and orange cream really enjoyed all three. The other day I threw in the left over watermelon with ice and vanilla protein powder and it was great! Now no fear of having left over watermelon.
