When out in the sticks, no need to leave your healthy eating in the city. Of course, it’s not camping without a smore or banana boat, and you’ve got to live a little, but share your favorite camping yummies with us!
Last trip we tried kabobs and they were wonderful! Before the trip I chopped up veggies into big chunks and put in gallon size ziploc bags. And put chopped steak in another gallon ziploc with as Asian garlic hoison marinade/glaze. All in ice chest. First night everyone assembled their own skewers with whatever they wanted on it, then we put on grilling rack over the open fire. Brushed on more marinade/glaze. So good! My skewer was mostly veggies. We had eggplant (this was everyone’s surprising favorite!), green peppers, red peppers, onion, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, yellow squash, & zucchini. We will definitely repeat. (completely not my photo, BTW 🙂 )
