Spring is here! Let’s dust off winter with some heart-pumping spring training. During the month of April, Prana Fitness is going to post daily one workout move or yoga pose that you can do at home, at a park, or anywhere.
April 21st: Eagle Crunches
Lay on back. Extend arms up into the air, the sweep right elbow under left arm. Press palms or wrists together (or if that’s not an option, touch shoulders). Elbows are therefore crossed on top of your chest. Then lift your legs up into the air, sweep the right leg over the left thigh. Bind the right ankle behind the left calf (or if that’s not an option, just let foot hang out there close to the calf). To begin the movement, touch hands to ground over your head, and left heel to ground in front of you. Take a big inhale. On the exhale crunch up and touch elbows to knees, inhale lower to the ground again. Do maybe 10 times (or more) and then sprawl open, change to do the other side. Gets the entire range of the core muscles.
